Managing Your Fixed Term Deposit (FTD)

This page explains how to view your Fixed Term Deposit account, understand your profit, and reinvest your funds at maturity.

How to view your FTD

  • Log in to Digital Banking (app or desktop)
  • Select your Fixed Term Deposit account
  • Choose Information from the menu
  • Select your Account Reference for full details

You'll be able to see your expected profit rate, profit earned, next profit payment date, balance at maturity, maturity date, and other key account details.

How expected profit works

When you opened your account, you chose how your profit is paid:

  • Reinvested quarterly into your FTD - profit is added every quarter and paid at maturity, or
  • Paid quarterly to your nominated account - profit is paid out to your chosen account every quarter

My Fixed Term Deposit is maturing - what do I do?

If your account is approaching maturity, you can reinvest through Digital Banking. Before you begin:

  • Make sure you're registered for Digital Banking
  • Check your app is up to date (Android 11+ / iOS 15+)
  • Wait for your maturity notification (sent 15 days before maturity)

How to reinvest your FTD

  1. Log in to Digital Banking
  2. Go to your Notification Centre
  3. Select your FTD maturity notification
  4. Choose Get Started
  5. Select your new FTD product
  6. Choose how you want your profit paid
  7. Confirm your nominated account
  8. Enter the amount to reinvest (full, partial, or add extra funds)
  9. Review and confirm your details
  10. Accept the declaration

Once complete, you'll receive a confirmation email. At maturity, your funds will be reinvested automatically based on your instructions.

How to renivest your FTD

Joint accounts - the primary account holder must complete their steps first, and the second account holder will then be notified. Both must complete their steps for reinvestment to go ahead. If all steps aren't completed, the reinvestment won't proceed and funds will be transferred to the primary nominated account.

Nominated account - you must have a nominated account set up; this must be a UK current account in your name. You can pause the process, set this up, and then resume.

What happens next?

  • You'll receive a welcome email confirming your new FTD
  • Your funds will be reinvested on your maturity date
  • If no action is taken, funds will be transferred to your nominated account

How long will it take?

  • You can complete reinvestment immediately online. Notifications appear 15 days before maturity.
  • Reinvestment rate guarantee

If you reinvest digitally, your expected profit rate will increase if rates rise within 15 days after maturity, and it won't decrease if rates fall.
