Managing Your Current Account

This page explains how to manage your AlRayan Bank current account and carry out everyday banking.

About your current account

Your current account is designed for everyday banking and is based on the Sharia-compliant principle of Qard (a loan without benefit) - no interest or profit is paid.

You can use your account to:

  • Receive your salary or benefits
  • Make and receive payments and transfers
  • Set up Direct Debits and Standing Orders
  • Use your debit card for purchases and withdrawals
  • Send and receive UK and international payments

How do I access my account?

You can manage your account at any time using Digital Banking (app or desktop) or Telephone Banking, allowing you to check your balance, view transactions, and make and manage payments.

Manage your account

Make a payment - send money quickly through Digital Banking, to existing or new payees, in the UK or internationally. For full guidance, visit the Payments help page [Insert link].

Manage Direct Debits and Standing Orders - view, set up, amend or cancel regular payments through Digital Banking.

Use your debit card - make purchases in-store or online, withdraw cash, or use your card abroad (with notice). For limits, travel and lost card support, visit the Debit Card help page [Insert link].

View statements and documents - download statements, access your account information, or request additional documents. Visit the Statements & Documents page [Insert link].

Close your account - select the account, choose where to transfer your remaining funds, and confirm your request through Digital Banking. Visit the Account Closure page [Insert link].

Update your personal details - keep your contact details up to date through Digital Banking to keep your account secure.

Dealing with bereavement - if you need to notify us about a bereavement, we'll guide you through the process [Insert link].

Inactive accounts - if your account hasn't been used for some time, it may become inactive. You can reactivate or close it by providing identification and the required forms [Insert link].

Important things to know

  • You must activate your debit card before using it
  • Always keep your contact details up to date
  • You may be asked to verify your identity when logging in or making transactions

How long will it take?

  • Viewing balances and transactions: instant
  • Payments: usually same day (before cut-off times)
  • Direct Debits and Standing Orders: 1–2 working days to set up or amend
