Managing Direct Debits

Direct Debits are set up directly with the organisation you're paying.

View a Direct Debit - log in to Digital Banking, select your account, and choose Direct Debits

Cancel a Direct Debit - select the Direct Debit and swipe to cancel. If you can't cancel it online, contact the organisation or send us a message

Don't recognise a Direct Debit? - check the payment details in Digital Banking, contact the organisation, or contact us if you're still unsure

Your protection - the Direct Debit Guarantee means you'll be told in advance about changes, and you can request a full and immediate refund if there's an error.

Managing Standing Orders

Standing orders are regular payments you control.

Set up a standing order - log in to Digital Banking, select your account, choose Standing Orders, enter the payment details and schedule, and confirm

Change a standing order - select it, edit the details, and confirm

Cancel a standing order - select it and swipe to cancel

Your nominated account

A nominated account is where money from your savings account is sent. It must be a UK account in your name, and it applies to all your savings accounts.

How to set or update it:

  1. Log in to Digital Banking
  2. Go to Manage Payees
  3. Add or select your own account
  4. Choose Set as nominated account
  5. Save

You must set this up before withdrawing from a savings account.

Important things to know

  • Add a payee before making a payment
  • Payments before 5pm are usually processed the same day; payments after 5pm are processed the next working day
  • International payments typically take 7–10 working days

Quick tips

  • International payments have a fee and may be delayed
  • Without a nominated account, you can't withdraw from savings
  • Keep your nominated account up to date
  • Joint savings accounts may require each holder to set their own nominated account
