Dormant Account Reclaim

This page explains what happens when an account becomes dormant and how you can reclaim your money if it has been transferred to the Dormant Assets Scheme.

Why has my money been transferred?

If there has been no customer-initiated activity on your account for 15 years or more, your account may be classified as dormant.

Under UK legislation, banks may transfer money from dormant accounts to the Dormant Assets Scheme. This scheme helps direct otherwise unused funds towards social and environmental initiatives across the UK.
