Al Rayan Bank launches Digital Banking Version 5

The COVID 19 pandemic impacted traditional banking methods throughout the UK as customers were unwilling or unable to access banking in branch, at the ATM or by phone. 

This was also reflected in our own customer base, with an increase in the numbers of customers making the most of our digital banking options. That’s one of the reasons why we have recently made changes to our Digital Banking app.

These include:

  • ‘Stop and think’ messages that can help reduce your risk of fraud when making external payments or setting up a new payee. Criminals will often try and hurry you into taking action, but this feature gives you valuable time to consider the situation you are in and decide if what you’re really being told makes sense. In this way, it can protect you from preventable financial fraud.
  • Push notifications that allow you to verify your online debit card transactions easily through the Digital banking app.

These features are available now and we suggest you do the following to ensure you have the latest version and you can experience these benefits:

  • Update to the new app, if you have not done so already. You will be prompted to update when you next access the app. If you do not have automatic updates set on your phone, you can manually upgrade to the latest version by visiting the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android). 
  • Check your device is compatible: To use the app your device must be operating at version 15 (iOS) or version 8 (Android). You may need to update your operating system. If your device is not compatible, you can still view your accounts online using the Al Rayan Bank UK Authenticator app. See below for more details.

Troubleshooting 

It's important to always use the latest version of the Digital Banking app and ensure that your device is running the latest version of its operating system. This helps to ensure that your Digital Banking app works smoothly and that you can benefit from all its features. To find out how to check whether your device is running the latest version of its operating system, visit either the Apple or Google support websites.

If your phone is not compatible with the Digital Banking app, or do choose not to use it, you can still access your online accounts using the Al Rayan Bank UK Authenticator app.

Our Authenticator app ensures your safety with Strong Customer Authentication and enables you to view your accounts online without downloading the Mobile Banking app. 

  • It’s fast: Download the Al Rayan Bank UK Authenticator app and you'll be able to access your accounts on a desktop or laptop computer as soon as you've registered. Follow the instructions here.
  • It's compatible. The Al Rayan Bank UK Authenticator app is compatible with Android 4.1 and above, iOS 8 and above, meaning slightly older devices can use it.
  • It's portable. If you access your accounts from multiple locations, the Al Rayan Bank UK Authenticator app allows you to do this, quickly and securely. 
  • It's free. Just like our Mobile Banking app, the Al Rayan Bank UK Authenticator app is free for all users.
