Al Rayan Bank announces key executive team appointment
Al Rayan Bank, the most successful Islamic bank in the UK, is pleased to announce the appointment of Charlotte Birks as General Counsel & Company Secretary, reinforcing its executive team to support the Bank's strategic objectives.
With an extensive career spanning over 20 years, Charlotte brings a wealth of experience from her tenure as Company Secretary (Solicitor) in prominent public and private entities, including Aviva, Royal Bank of Canada, and Daiwa Securities Capital Markets.
In her new capacity, Charlotte will assume the key role of leading the Bank's legal and governance strategy, providing expert advice, and managing legal risks effectively across the organisation. She will directly report to Giles Cunningham, the Chief Executive Officer of Al Rayan Bank.
Charlotte expressed her enthusiasm about joining Al Rayan Bank, stating, "Al Rayan Bank holds a distinctive position in the UK banking landscape and it is a privilege to be invited to be part of the executive management team to help contribute to its future success."
Giles Cunningham, CEO at Al Rayan Bank, emphasised the significance of Charlotte's addition to the team, saying, "Charlotte is well known for her expertise in corporate law and regulation, specifically within the financial services sector for European, offshore, Northern American and Asian jurisdictions.
