Before you apply, please read through the below information in order to help your application run as smoothly as possible.
How long will it take to open my Fixed Term Deposit?
We expect that it will take up to seven business days to fully process your application. We will contact you with your Welcome Letter, either by email or post, to inform you that it is open and tell you how to fund your new FTD.
When will I receive my welcome letter?
You will receive your Welcome Letter once your FTD has been opened, this may take up to seven business days after your application has been completed. You may receive your Welcome Letter by post, or you may receive it via a secure email.
How do I fund my FTD once it is open?
You can fund your FTD by direct account transfer from an account in your name. You will need to make a note of the following:
- Your account number, which is a unique eight-digit number.
- Your reference number, which is a unique six-digit number preceded by the letters ‘LIB’
- You’ll find your account number and reference number in your Welcome Letter, which you will receive after opening your account, and on the ‘Next Steps’ and ‘Final Stage’ screens of your online application.
Will you honour the expected profit rate if it changes after my application is made, but before the account is open?
Yes. The expected profit rate quoted at your time of application will be the expected profit rate that is paid on your FTD.
What do I need before I apply?
If you are a new customer, to help your application run as smoothly as possible, please ensure you have the following information ready when you apply.
- Move in dates for each applicant's home address (covering the past three years)
- Your National Insurance number
If you are an existing customer and are registered for Digital Banking, you can apply through your Mobile Banking app or Desktop Portal.
What happens if my online application stalls?
If for some reason there is an issue with your online application, we will contact you as long as you have provided your name and contact details. If you have not provided this information and still wish to apply, please call us on 0800 408 6407
