A Ramadan message from Sultan Choudhury Al Rayan Bank CEO
Dear brothers & sisters. Assalam-u-Alaikum and Ramadan Mubarak. I pray that this message finds you well.
Ramadan is upon us again and as we prepare to devote our days and nights in worship, the Al Rayan Bank team and I wish you and your families a blessed and peaceful month.
It is said that Ramadan arrives as a visitor each year, bearing gifts. These include the potential for increased blessings, the opportunity to reflect and strengthen our faith, and a stronger spirit of family and community.
These are wonderful gifts, which we may not make enough time for on an everyday basis. Yet, in Ramadan, Muslims across the world rally themselves to enjoy the rewards of the month.
This is the challenge that we all face - to keep a strong focus on our spiritual wellbeing through our everyday lives during and beyond Ramadan. This can be by continuing to give charity throughout the year, finding ways to give back to the local community in which we live or looking at our everyday activities, such as our finances, to ensure that they are in keeping with our faith.
For over 12 years, Al Rayan Bank has been proudly serving Britain’s Muslim communities by offering products and services that enable us to conduct our finances in line with our beliefs. Whether it is buying a home or rental property, saving for a wedding or Hajj, or planning for our children’s future, the Bank has worked hard to develop the largest range of Sharia compliant retail financial products in the UK. This has made it easy for Muslims to ensure that their finances complement their spiritual efforts, rather than contradict them.
The Bank’s work to make a difference to people’s lives does not begin and end with its products and services though. Al Rayan Bank has also taken an active role in the community, regularly hosting events which provide information and education on the many different aspects of finance in Islam. These events are an important opportunity for us to connect with the communities we serve; our guests tell us that they are very grateful for them and that they bring people together for the common good.
The Bank’s charitable work also spans a number of activities; from raising awareness of Zakat with the National Zakat Foundation, to programmes which inspire young people from deprived communities to realise their potential with Mosaic, a mentoring charity founded by HRH The Prince of Wales.
It is said that Ramadan is the month in which our worship, deeds and prayers are judged. So may Allah guide the efforts all of us, and bless us with success. May He also accept the efforts that we are all making in order to receive the great rewards and blessings of Ramadan. Ameen.Go Back
